Feb 22nd | Booked my passage at Krugersdorp by Walmer Castle from Durban. Paid £5 deposit to Mr Baker. Will sail on April 5th 06 |
X 22nd | Same day had bad smash on bicycle. Swerved to miss a wire stretched across the path and ran into sluit 3’ 6” deep. The ground belongs to a person named Bowles of Krugersdorp. Bicycle smashed, silk jacket torn. Bowles repairs the bicycle. Very bad neck and face. Eventually had to pay for the bicycle repairs myself. |
March 3rd | Wrote to Colonial Secretary for permit to import Westley Richards Martini Henry rifle No1897. (This rifle was left at Custom House, Johannesburg 26th Jan 1903) |

April 2nd | Cashed pay cheque for £47. Raining all day, riding bicycle in it all day. |
