5th January:- Started at No 8 shaft Randfontein Central as Shaft Clerk at £15 pound per month
No answer having been received from Phthisis Board
February: gave Carter the home agent power to find a buyer for the two houses on stand 609 Van Wyk St (53 and 53A) West Krugersdorp
Closed with Adam for £500. Fifty pounds deposit, and £10 per month. Carter received £25 for the sale. Papenhagen, who holds a bond on these houses, has just gone to Australia, so must wait until the return of the Power of Attorney for Messrs Phillips and Osmond Solicitors Krugersdorp to [illegible] the necessary bond.
5th March:- Made arrangements with C Regan of Luipaardsvlei, in the presence of Mr Phillips in his office Ockerse St. Krugersdorp, for the loan of £100 to enable me to make the necessary payments to P Papenhagen on April 15th 1915 capital lent on the two houses on stand 609 West Krudersdorp and for which Papenhagen holds the bond; at the present moment £350 + 8% interest per annum interest being still owing.
On this date the Clearance Certificate [illegible] was got from the Municipality and for 59 Dekker St West K (stand 253) to enable Phillips and Osmond to draw up a bond in favour of C Regan for his £100.
Interest to be 8% per annum and the bond to be made out for two years, with my option of paying the money back in one year.
6th March:- Handed the fire insurance policy (New Zealand) to Phillips and Osmond, which is now ceded to C Regan
