Two Lives

5-9-02

Fate; that great controller of things to be,
Around two souls has worked his wondrous net,
Has bought one from lands across the sea,
Has made two lives one, where; had they never met,
They’d have lived their lives in a half hearted kind of way.
Never known of love, strong, fierce; that hold the heart in sway.

It is written in the great book of fate,
That man shall seek, throughout this world of pain,
The woman that has been designed his mate.
For her he seeks and finding her will gain
A prize, the value of his own sweet life.
The angel he can love and make his wife.

Some wed, and think they wed for love alone.
But it’s a mockery; weak, and will not last.
They live a life unhappy, and for rashness they atone
As years go by, they look back on their past
And wish that they could live again.
They’d search the whole world through their love to gain.

But true love sails in the realms of heavenly light,
And everything is pure and free from stain,
The hours are passed in pleasure and no night
Comes to their lives to cause a single pain.
Their love, red; hot as the fires’ breath,
Will cleave together, and ne’er part until death.

Thus these two lives connected by this golden band
And brought together by this fate so kind,
As true love reigns may they stand hand in hand.
And live a life of love and happiness of mind.
For all is bright and the horizon is clear,
They love each other, and each to each is dear.
